Generally, there is little public funding available. Federal grants from
EPA in the hundred thousand dollars range are available to municipalities.
The alternative is financing from the private sector and there is ample
venture capital available for good development opportunities.

I represent the association of brownfield developers, which includes ten
national companies who are looking for good projects along these lines.
If you would like to send me any ideas for a specific project, I would be
happy to distribute the information to all of the members. Info. they would
need includes: current site owner, specific location, env'l issues
including cleanup estimates, regulatory status, what locality and/or
owner have in mind for site, and asking price, if any. A location map
would also be helpful.
