NEW TWO-VOLUME BROWNFIELDS GUIDE PUBLISHED

Matthew Bender & Co. has announced the publication of Brownfields Law
& Practice: The Cleanup and Redevelopment of Contaminated Land, a
two-volume looseleaf work covering all aspects of brownfields development.

     The first volume covers:
The Brownfields Concept and Objectives of the Parties
          Potential Cleanup Liability
          Structuring Brownfields Transactions
          Brownfields Site Investigations
Alternative Methods for Cleaning Up Brownfields
          Technical Cleanup Issues in Brownfields
Financial, Insurance, Tax and Particular Legal Issues

The second volume includes a detailed chapter on each of the fifty
states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Each of these
chapters describes the state's laws on voluntary cleanup, hazardous waste
liability, cleanup procedures and standards, financial assistance, and
other important information.

General editor and principal author of Brownfields Law and Practice is
Michael B. Gerrard, a partner in the New York City office of Arnold &
Porter, and an adjunct professor of environmental law at Columbia Law
School and the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Many
additional experts collaborated on the work, and in-state expert
consultants prepared state-specific commentaries for the state law
chapters.

Brownfields Law and Practice will be updated twice annually. It is
also available on CD-ROM and, for a fee, via the internet (www.bender.com).
Ordering information can be obtained from Matthew Bender,
800-223-1940.
