Subject: Emeryville One-Stop Shop

The City of Emeryville is testing a One-Stop Shop, which is a web
application that allows residents, landowners, developers and other
interested parties to access land use zoning, property ownership, and
environmental information on any parcel within the City of Emeryville. It
is intended to be an informational tool for residents and developers that
will simplify and speed up the information gathering process. The
creation of the One-Stop Shop was funded by the Environmental Protection
Agency's Brownfields Pilot Program.

The test version will be on-line temporarily (until July 1998). It can be
viewed using Netscape v.3.0 or higher or Explorer v.4.0 or higher. The
One-Stop Shop includes available information for all properties in
Emeryville:

A parcel base map of the city with Assessor Parcel Numbers (APN)

Street addresses

Assessed value of the property

Land use/zoning data

Size of parcel

Ownership and contact information

Well/soil boring data

The information is displayed in a user-friendly, Geographical Information
Systems (GIS), web interface designed to be used by the general public.
No prior IS experience is necessary to access information from the site. A
help manual feature is currently being created to help guide users who need
some assistance. The current display is not a finished product; the City of
Emeryville is in the process of perfecting the program.
