ESD The Engineering Society Hosts Brownfield Redevelopment And
Environmental Justice Conference

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 15 -- ESD The Engineering Society is
proud to host the Brownfield Redevelopment and Environmental Justice
Conference at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza in Romulus, Mich. on September
16, 1999. It's a regional conference focusing on the Great Lakes States to
spur Brownfield site redevelopment of old unused industrial sites.

Jerome Neyer, Chairman of NTH Consultants, LTD., and Past President of ESD
The Engineering Society, states, ``Redevelopment of Brownfield sites is
critical to saving our older cities. Given the commitment of the EPA and
local regulatory agencies to Brownfield Redevelopment, the time is right
for the engineering community to join with other stakeholders to return
these sites to productive use.''

The mission of the conference is to provide business and governmental
decision makers with reliable tools and strategies to address the topmost
Brownfield issues including environmental justice and to help developers,
industry, municipalities and states turn economically deficient property
into economic assets for business attraction and development.

The speakers will address site assessment methods, selection of
consultants, potential reuse, innovative remediation, environmental
justice, working with regulatory agencies and the community, financing,
site masterplans, strategic alliances and joint ventures to complete the
project. Case studies will be emphasized.

This one day event will provide excellent networking opportunities with
owners, Brownfield consultants, legal advisors, lenders, government
officials, regulators, design firms and contractors. For more information
or to register, please call ESD's Alethea Nellard at 248-355-2910, ext.
