(AP) - With towering heaps of scrap metal rising in their back yard, a Superfund waste site next door and a constant rumble from nearby cranes, trains and automobiles, you'd think residents of the Tall Trees Mobile Home Park would be happy to leave. By the middle of the month, they must abandon their squalid $160-a-month trailers for free homes or $30,000 in a settlement to clean up the adjacent toxic site. But for the 56 families - mostly Mixtec Indians, migrant farmworkers from Mexico - there is a mix of emotions about leaving behind the most permanent home they've known in the United States. continued...
