EPA to remove contaminants from beneath Leelanau County school Associated Press Detroit Free Press May 29, 2005 GREILICKVILLE, Mich. (AP) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency plans to remove contaminants from beneath a Leelanau County elementary school. Norris Elementary is located next to a Superfund site where former dry-cleaning operation Grand Traverse Overall Supply Co. once was located. The state Department of Environmental Quality has determined that a plume of contaminated groundwater was coming from that property. The EPA said in April that there is no danger to students or staff from indoor air at the elementary school located next to a Superfund site. ...
