Local group pressures DEP on Bird site plan By Tyler B. Reed MetroWest Daily News (MA) July 16, 2005 HOLLISTON -- The group opposed to a developer's plans to build homes on the Bird property is pressing the state Department of Environmental Protection to respond to its fears about the impact the 200-unit development could have on the public water supply. In a July 13 letter to a DEP official, the Holliston-Hopkinton Action Committee asked the agency to explain why it expressed "strong concern" about a wastewater treatment facility planned for the property in the 1990s, but has conveyed "tacit approval" of the current plan. "We want to know why this doesn't raise the same concern," committee member John Lynch said yesterday. "Just come out and tell people, look, if it's not a concern, here's why." ...
