Endicott gains more pollution venting systems IBM having units installed at two apartment buildings By Tom Wilber Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin (NY) December 3, 2005 Contractors for IBM Corp. are making some progress in installing safeguards to protect Endicott residents from solvent pollution, but more than 40 properties still remain vulnerable, a spokesman from the state Department of Health reported Friday. Work is under way to install systems to divert a subterranean plume of chemical vapors from two apartment buildings on Tracy Street and one on Adams Avenue occupied by young families, said Jeff Hammond, a spokesman for the state DOH.
