Bills would create new brownfield tax credit By Amy Lane Crain's Detroit Business December 12, 2005 LANSING - Companies that undertake small redevelopments of contaminated sites may find it easier to obtain state tax credits under bills taking final shape in the Legislature. House Bill 4734, part of a package of bills that amend Michigan brownfield law, carves out a new category of tax credits for brownfield redevelopments under $2 million. The goal: To encourage more companies to apply for the smaller single-business tax credits and to take on projects that would otherwise vie with large redevelopments for limited tax credits. ...
