WALSENBURG - Several community leaders are taking a step toward
revitalizing some of Walsenburg's boarded-up businesses.

The group recently contacted a non-profit company that specializes in
brownfield redevelopment. A brownfield is a heavily contaminated industrial
site.

Colorado Brownfields Foundation, based in Littleton, works to remove
environmental obstacles and hazards to facilitate community and economic
development.
