Proposed Homeless Center Site Dealing with Pollution Problem Amy Katcher WTVC News Channel 9 (Chattanooga, TN) May 17,2006 The proposed site of a new homeless shelter in Chattanooga has been causing some controversy lately. The city recently bought the former Farmer's Market site on East 11th Street for $775,000, knowing the land was polluted. But now something will have to be done before any new construction can begin on the land. The old Farmer's Market location has been everything from a quarry, to a fishing hole, to a landfill. ...
