Kaukauna lands brownfield redevelopment grant

Wisconsin Department of Commerce Secretary Mary Burke today announced a 
$100,000 Blight Elimination and Brownfield Redevelopment grant to assist 
a redevelopment effort in Outagamie County.

The City of Kaukauna received the $100,000 for Kaukauna Utilities, a 
Kaukauna-owned nonprofit agency, to redevelop two parcels of land on the 
Fox River. The land was used predominantly for recycling and salvage 
operations and has been vacant since 2004.

Kaukauna Utilities will raze the existing structures and redevelop the 
parcels, adding a 17,800 square foot warehouse to support utility 
operations.  The project's total investment is $1.5 million.
