Subject: | [CPEO-BIF] New Hampshire Vapor Intrusion Guidance |
In July, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services
published its 49-page Vapor Intrusion Guidance as a 2 MB scanned PDF
file. See http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=ysbivybab.0.c8tkvybab.59frsobab.765&ts=S0207&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.des.state.nh.us%2Forcb%2Fdoclist%2Fpdf%2Fvapor_intrusion.pdf Page 25 (page 30 of the PDF file) contains a table of screening levels. The indoor air screening level for TCE is 1.1 micrograms per cubic meter - almost as protective as any state's since EPA withdrew its 2001 draft Human Health Risk Assessment. The TCE soil gas screening level seems conservative at 54 micrograms per cubic meter, but the groundwater to indoor air screening level is an unprotective 50 parts per billion. Lenny --
