Foundry site wins grant for brownfield projectPittsburgh Tribune-Review (PA) November 14, 2006 The former Latrobe Foundry will benefit from a $107,366 Growing Greener II state grant to be used for brownfield development. The Economic Growth Commission received the funding for the second and third phases in the redevelopment of the industrial site in Derry Township. The 24-acre property is used as a light-industrial park with several small businesses on the site. The funds will be used to clean up a waste disposal area by the old foundry and expand the existing park to accommodate current and future tenants. The project includes the collection and analysis of soil samples, installation of groundwater wells, site mapping and the development of a mediation ...
