Corona-Norco school materials tests carry broad implications By PAIGE AUSTIN and SHIRIN PARSAVAND Riverside Press-Enterprise (CA) March 19, 2007State and Corona-Norco school board officials will meet today to discuss plans for testing two local schools for a cancer-causing chemical that might be gassing from building materials inside the schools. The testing process is fairly simple. It's the findings that could carry major implications for schools and students everywhere. If the two schools -- Corona High and El Cerrito Middle -- test positive for vinyl chloride in the air, possibly from vinyl carpet or tile, it could mean that countless new schools around the nation have the same health problem. In Norco, the issue is fraught with layers of emotion, history and legal tensions. ...
