State: Only one Victor home has elevated vapors Gary Craig Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (NY) April 12, 2007State officials say they've found only one Victor home in need of ventilation to combat solvent vapors suspected to originate from contaminated groundwater in a western section of the town. Officials say they plan to retest measurements at seven other homes in a year because of the levels of vapors found beneath the basements. They would not release specific measurements. Last week, state officials reported that only one of the 15 homes tested for toxic vapors needed protective measures. Testing is now complete at nine other homes and none needs ventilation, said Sean Hanna, the regional director of the state Department of Environmental Conservation. ...
