Gratiot board approves brownfield plan By LINDA GITTLEMAN Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun (MI) May 16, 2007Gratiot County Commissioners unanimously approved the Brownfield Redevelopment plan for the new owners of the Oxford Automotive plant. Representatives of Merrill Fabricators, makers of large, complex welded products, were at the commission meeting Tuesday, including Randy Yackel, president of the company. Yackel said company officials can't wait to move into the new plant."We actually have customers who are waiting for us to move," he said. Because the company is in a "constant growth mode," the new 18-acre plant offers immediate solutions to its growing problems. ...
