Tainted soil found at Paramus school Thursday, By MICHAEL GARTLAND The Record (NJ) May 24, 2007Soil unearthed at Paramus' West Brook Middle School contains pesticides at levels up to 39 times the state's safety guidelines. Paramus school officials knew about the contamination in January, but did not attempt to notify parents until Wednesday when The Record started asking questions. The soil was tested for contamination late last year and contains three pesticides that were banned by the federal government for health and environmental reasons in the 1980s. ...
