Economic council offers to market Camden brownfield

CAMDEN: An economic development nonprofit is pitching help to Camden in marketing town-owned properties, including the site of an old tannery, for potential business development.

Late in August, Town Manager Roberta Smith received a letter from the Knox/Waldo Regional Economic Development Council, under the direction of Alan Hinsey, which offered to take the lead role in analyzing, marketing and promoting town-owned properties for potential business development and job creation.

The council is a program of the Eastern Maine Development Corporation, based in Bangor. EMDC's mission is to help businesses and communities in Eastern Maine develop and grow.
