Y drops plans for $10-million facility off Adelaide Ave. By Linda Borg Providence Journal (RI) November 2, 2007PROVIDENCE - The YMCA of Greater Providence is not going forward with its plans to build a $10-million facility on the former Gorham manufacturing site, next to the new Adelaide Avenue High School. The YMCA also plans to end adult programs at its InTown Providence branch on Broad Street on Nov. 30, citing declining membership and the need for additional space for Crossroads Rhode Island, which assists homeless men and women. Crossroads renovated and then moved into most of the former YMCA complex in 2004. ...
