Highwood developer suing township By Pam Fleming Northville Record (MI) November 15, 2007 REIS filed suit in Wayne County Circuit Court last week, seeking money damages and other relief against Northville Township, its board of trustees and planning commission. According to REIS, the lawsuit results from the township interfering with and then completely preventing the development of the former Northville Psychiatric Hospital site contrary to established law and in violation of the Michigan and U.S, Constitutions. REIS-Northville wants to build a mixed-used development called Highwood on the 414-acre site. "REIS regrets that the defendants exceeded their authority, prevented implementation of creative and forward looking plans and forced this court action," according to a press release. ...
