Residents plan lawsuit over tainted water By Nanci Bompey Asheville Citizen-Times (NC) November 28, 2007 SKYLAND - Residents near the former CTS of Asheville plant have filed a letter of intent to sue the former and current owners of the site on Mills Gap Road over contamination on the property. According to the letter, 29 residents intend to sue former owner CTS Corp., current owners Mills Gap Road Associates and former developer The Biltmore Group. The residents want to force the companies to clean up trichloroethylene, or TCE, contamination at and around the 57-acre site of the former industrial switch manufacturer. The industrial solvent has been found to pose a threat to humans and the environment, according to the letter. ... The EPA is planning to test areas around the site for potentially harmful vapors coming from the contamination, and health officials are conducting a health assessment of the site. ...
