Immokalee affordable housing site gets Brownfield designation Naples Daily News (FL) December 12, 2007 Collier County commissioners have approved a resolution designating land that will be developed into affordable housing within the Immokalee Enterprise Zone. Commissioners on Tuesday designated the parcels associated with the Crestview Park Development I and II, an affordable housing development in Immokalee, as a Brownfield Area for the purpose of economic development and environmental rehabilitation. Brownfield sites are generally abandoned, idled or underutilized commercial or industrial properties where redevelopment is complicated by suspected contamination. The Brownfield designation provides a variety of economic incentives such as state loan guarantees. ...
