Subject: [CPEO-BIF] Kiddie Kollege, Franklin Township, NJ "should be demolished"
DEP: Demolish Kiddie Kollege

FRANKLIN TWP. Kiddie Kollege, the day care center where children were
unknowingly exposed to mercury contamination, should be demolished
according to a report released by the state Department of Environmental
Protection late last week.

The report details the extent of mercury contamination at the former
thermometer factory turned day care center, saying that airborne mercury
concentrations greatly exceeded the state's acceptable standard.

However, the state Department of Health and Senior Services, which
tested students for elevated mercury levels in 2007, said that the
report doesn't warrant any additional testing of those who were exposed
something parents believe is necessary for their children's health.
