Third toxic site uncovered, in Brighton Steve Orr Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (NY) March 13, 2008 Even as state environmental officials are publicizing cleanup plans for two Rochester-area toxic dump sites, another local contamination site has been placed on the to-do list. The new site, off Brighton-Henrietta Town Line Road, is a commercial property where the once-ubiquitous industrial solvent trichloroethene, or TCE, was used — and apparently spilled. Groundwater near the building at 235 Metro Park in Brighton contains relatively high concentrations of TCE, as well as other solvents. ... Agency spokeswoman Maureen Wren said Musinger's participation in the voluntary cleanup program ended last summer after his company failed to live up to the terms of the program. ... The fact sheet said an evaluation will be made of possible vapor intrusion — the term for the tendency of solvent vapors to rise through the soil and accumulation inside buildings above. ...
