[The rejected school site is adjacent to a Superfund site, and there is
significant deep-aquifer TCE contamination, but there is no evident
pathway. I personally evaluated the vapor intrusion study, and if the
data is correct there is no current potential for vapor intrusion.
Furthermore, U.S. EPA has concluded that the future conditions will not
create such a pathway. Still, parents and teachers successfully urged
the school board to reject the site. - LS]

It voted last night to abandon the Chester County school district's controversial plan to build the 650-student elementary school next to the federal hazardous-waste site.
