Brownfield authority helps foster new store By ALEX DOTY Ionia Sentinel-Standard (MI) June 26, 2008IONIA - A vacant site in Ionia Township on M-66 near Riverside Drive will be the new home of Ionia's NAPA Auto Parts store due to assistance from the Ionia County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. The authority was able to use Environmental Protection Agency brownfield assessment funds to help property developers environmentally assess and clean-up the former automotive service and sales site, which operated from 1956 to 2005. "It's a good use of tax money," Ionia County Economic Alliance Director Diane Smith said of the EPA grants. ...
