Comstock township Board of Trustees to vote on development of Midlink
Business Park site
REBECCA BAKKEN Kalamazoo Gazette ((MI) August 13, 2008COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP -- The Comstock Township Board of Trustees is expected to vote Monday to approve a Kalamazoo County Brownfield Authority plan to begin development on the site of the Midlink Business Park. Representatives of the county's Brownfield Authority, Midlink Business Park, Kaiser Aluminum and Southwest Michigan First met with the board at a rescheduled board meeting on Tuesday to introduce their plan for the 360-acre business park, a former General Motors Corp. metal-stamping plant that closed in 1999. The county Brownfield Authority handles the redevelopment of sites contaminated with hazardous material. A Brownfield plan, like the one proposed Tuesday, provides a means to finance such a redevelopment. ...
