Former west side brownfield now home to a new business DeLille Oxygen Co. relocates at the site of the former SPECO building By Samantha Sommer Dayton Daily News (OH) May 21, 2009SPRINGFIELD - DeLille Oxygen Co.'s "industrial ribbon-cutting" for its new building involved slicing a metal strip with a torch on Wednesday, May 20. The welding and gas supply company has relocated from a 5,000-square-foot property at 415 E. Columbia St. to a new 25,000-square-foot facility at 1101 W. Columbia St. The project is the first tax-generating business developed on a former brownfield cleaned up by the city of Springfield. Delille replaced the crumbling SPECO building, which the city razed and cleaned up at a cost of about $1.3 million. The city paid for the project with state and federal grants, as well as some money from its development partner, Midland Properties. ...
