Delphi bankruptcy plan worries Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Eric English Saginaw News (MI) July 18, 2009It's not just retirees, investors and workers worried about how Delphi Corp.'s plan to emerge from bankruptcy will play out. The state Department of Environmental Quality is concerned the plan might leave Michigan on the hook to clean up pollution on the company's property. That includes contamination at three Delphi sites in Saginaw County.Delphi's plan to emerge from bankruptcy could win federal court approval as soon as this week. The DEQ has filed a "limited" objection in New York federal bankruptcy court asserting that General Motors Co. remains liable for contamination at Delphi properties. GM once owned Delphi and will acquire Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems again under the bankruptcy plan. ...
