Evans H.S. Plans Complicated By Contamination WFTV 9 News (Orlando, FL) September 1, 2009ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News found out contaminated land is forcing the Orange County School District to re-design plans for Evans High School, leaving some future grads wondering if it will ever get off the ground. The contamination is forcing district officials to shop elsewhere for land that doesn't need clean-up and Eyewitness News found out they're already in negotiations for other land north and east of the existing school and the contamination, on the corner of Silver Star and Pine Hills roads. School officials are testing the soil to make sure contaminates that are coming from nearby businesses are not seeping onto Evans' property. Leamon Davis is on track to graduate from Evans High School in 2012. He would be part of the first graduating class from the new $75 million high school. ...
