For redevelopment project: Approval imminent for roadway work Redding Pilot (CT) 28 December 28, 2009Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced Dec. 25 that $1.3 million for roadway improvements in the Georgetown Special Taxing District in Redding will be approved when the State Bond Commission meets Jan. 8. The Georgetown Special Taxing District was established to oversee Georgetown Land Development Company's proposed redevelopment of the former Gilbert & Bennett wire mill site off Route 107 in Georgetown. ...The project will convert a major brownfield site into a mixed use transit-oriented development that will support up to 400 residential units, 300,000 square feet of commercial office and retail activities as well as the new railroad platform and parking. ...
