Victor Mill cleanup project costs could mount Officials search for additional sources of funding By Anna Lee Greater Greer News (SC) January 12, 2010A previous agreement with the Wellford landfill to forgo charges on debris removed from the former Victor Mill has fallen through because the landfill is nearly full. That means the cost of cleaning up the former textile site may start to climb because of high fuel prices and landfill fees, which can add up, said state Rep. Harold Mitchell, who formed the H. Mitchell Group LLC to facilitate the project. It's something to keep in mind as Spartanburg County officials review seven bids from contractors as close as Spartanburg and as far away as Michigan to remove debris from the 24.2-acre site. ...
