Ithaca Gun cleanup aid OK'd Debris piles could be gone by mid-March, engineer says By Krisy Gashler Ithaca Journal (NY) January 21, 2010Redevelopment plans at Ithaca Gun got a shot in the arm Thursday when a state oversight board agreed to give $420,000 more toward site cleanup. The board of directors of Empire State Development Corp. voted unanimously Thursday to reallocate money within a $2.3 million Restore NY grant, as requested by Ithaca's Common Council in August. The original grant, approved in April 2008, gave $1.46 million to help demolish and clean up the asbestos- and lead-laden former gun factory site between Lake Street and Ithaca Falls. Another $840,000 was meant to subsidize redevelopment of the site into high-end townhouse condominiums. ...
