Clean bill of health for former East Side brownfield

BUFFALO, NY - Some members of the East Side Community are celebrating the end of a highly contaminated site. A stretch of brownfield along East Ferry across from the True Bethel Baptist Church is now ready for future development.

The Rev. Darius Pridgen is pastor of True Bethel. Pridgen and a small group of citizens gathered for a blessing of the land. The DEC actually completed cleanup of inactive hazardous waste at the site late last year. But they selected Earth Week to commemorate completion of the cleanup.
