Wildcatter Estates to break ground Monday on former oil patch land By J. LOUISE LARSON Kilgore News Herald (TX) June 5, 2010With the help of a "brownfield" grant from the Texas Railroad Commission, an old oil patch property is getting a new lease on life in the heart of Kilgore. Wildcatter Estates, named for the venerable rugged oil field worker, is a fledgling development laid out for 18 duplexes (a total of 36 units) in the 1200 block of South Commerce Street. It's the brainchild of Longview developer Chris Dunsworth, who looked at the three-acre property pitted with extinct oil wells and came up with a plan to tap into the residential rental market. ...
