Worthman Milwaukee News Buzz (WI) June 8, 2010The recent decision by Spanish train maker Talgo, Inc. to locate a plant here might not have been possible without the conversion of an old brownfield. New or expanding companies need land and Milwaukee has gained more than 2,000 jobs since 2003 thanks to the reclamation of brownfields – with more such projects on the way. There are still over 300 acres of brownfields documented within the City of Milwaukee. This is abandoned under-used land that cannot be redeveloped without cleanup due to potential environmental contamination. ...
