National Grid building solar plants on old brownfields By Kyle Alspach Mass High Tech (MA) December 20, 2010National Grid (NYSE:NGG) will be joined by state officials in Revere on Tuesday to highlight three new solar power plants on former brownfield sites, which are expected to reach completion by the end of the year. The utility is constructing solar plants on formerly contaminated sites - also known as brightfields - in Haverhill, Everett and Revere. The three projects total 2.38 megawatts, enough electricity to power nearly 1,000 typical Massachusetts homes. ...
