State developing plan to clean up polluted Endicott site By Steve Reilly Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin (NY) February 14, 2011ENDICOTT -- The state's lead environmental agency is aiming to rejuvenate a 1-acre patch of polluted village land after eight decades of industrial misuse and abuse. Late last month, the state Department of Environmental Conservation released its 26-page plan to remediate 312 Maple St., a parcel seized by Broome County for back taxes in 1994. ..."We got this site, took it for back taxes, thought we were just going to clean up this little spill and the issue of vapor migration came up," said Frank Evangelisti, acting commissioner of the Broome County Department of Planning and Economic Development. ...
