Developer hopes Oakmont TIF stays afloat

Oakmont Council approved borough participation in a study of using $6 
million in future taxes to finance part of an upscale housing development.

The proposed TIF (Tax Increment Financing) study is related to the 
proposed River's Edge development on the former Edgewater Steel Co. 
property along the Allegheny River.

The Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County approved the study's 
basic conditions report, said Bob Hurley, deputy director of the 
Allegheny County Economic Development Department.
