DEP to begin work at tainted site BY DENISA R. SUPERVILLE The Record (NJ) March 16, 2011NORTHVALE - The state Department of Environmental Protection is expected to begin cleaning the contaminated Deluxe Dry Cleaners site on Livingston Avenue later this month, after some of the alleged polluters refused to accept responsibility, an agency spokesman said. The estimated $910,560 cost will come from the Publicly Funded Cleanup Element, which uses public money to remediate properties with soil and groundwater contamination. The agency will seek to recoup the money from the responsible parties, possibly through litigation, at a later date, Larry Hajna, the agency spokesman, said Friday. ...
