Contaminated Globeville May Get Second Chance Multi-Jurisdictional Agreement Moving Forward Jaclyn Allen KMGH TV-7 News (Denver, CO) March 24, 2011DENVER -- Denver's Globeville community is synonymous with contamination and blight, but now an ambitious, multi-jurisdictional plan to clean it up is moving forward. Years after the ASARCO smelting plant shut down, the stigma of contamination still looms like a smokestack over Globeville, a neighborhood in north Denver and Adams County. In the 80s, neighbors won a class action lawsuit against the plant and had their yards dug up to deal with high levels of lead and arsenic. ...
