Water fix finally near at Ivy Park

For the first time in six years of promises, a permanent clean water supply is likely to be built soon for residents affected by contamination leaching into groundwater from Ivy Industrial Park.

A settlement announced Friday between the Department of Environmental Protection and industrial park tenants Bostik Inc. and Sandvik Inc. has given the more than 200 affected property owners confidence that a long-term solution is real this time.

In the meantime, Sandvik and Bostik will each begin remediation at the industrial park to treat the source or sources of the contamination.
