EPA: Haverford residents safe By LOIS PUGLIONESI Delaware County Times (PA) July 24, 2011HAVERFORD - Residents living near the Havertown Superfund Site don't need to fear health risks from vapor intrusion, according to a recently completed assessment by the Environmental Protection Agency. Findings released July 16 state that trichloroethylene (TCE) and its byproducts "do not pose an unacceptable risk to residents via a vapor intrusion pathway. These contaminants have not been detected in indoor air living space and therefore, a removal action is not required to mitigate potential risks from TCE." Additionally, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry evaluated data contained in the 231-page document and determined that "contaminant concentrations do not pose a risk to public health and are below levels of concern at the site." ...
