Old brick property destined for rebirth

MANSFIELD - The vacant 146-acre former brick manufacturing facility  
at 1000 Richland Shale Road is being cleaned up to make way for  
economic development and job creation.

Richland County Commissioners held a public hearing today for an  
application for a $299,000 grant to help with the project.

Jody A. Kaufman, project geologist for Brownfield Restoration Group  
LLC of Akron, a private environmental company, and Bill Geier,  
regional manager for the former Richland Moulded Brick property,  
attended the 10 a.m. hearing
