Brownfields revitalization will require private, public input Eddie Fitzgerald New Bern Sun Journal (NC) August 26, 2011Residents and city officials for the first time Thursday evening got to see preliminary efforts by a consulting firm to revitalize areas of New Bern that have been lying dormant. About 50 people gathered at Dayspring Church for a public meeting on the Brownfields Area-Wide Planning Project. Brownfields are areas previously used for industrial or commercial purposes. Some of the land may be contaminated but has the potential to be reused once it is cleaned up. ...
