Cleanup to begin at Newburgh Brownfield site Mid-Hudson News October 12, 2001NEWBURGH - Eight years after the state Department of Environmental Conservation issued a record of decision for the remediation of the former Jones Automotive site at 86 Wisner Avenue in the City of Newburgh, it is going to be cleaned up. The cleanup includes excavating soils from the 1.5 acre site that contain levels of contamination and capping the site with clean gravel and soil. Cleanup with be performed by a contractor hired by the city, which owns the land since it took it for back taxes in 1999. ...
