Property owners unsure what Superfund could mean to them By S. HEATHER DUNCAN Macon Telegraph (GA) April 2, 2012Although the federal Environmental Protection Agency has plans to place a Macon industrial park on the federal Superfund list, it hasn’t notified most of those who own the property. ...The 433-acre site includes the Allied Industrial Park and the baseball fields of South Macon Park. More than half of the land is owned by the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, which rents out space within the park, both buildings and acreage, mostly to small, local companies. The EPA updated the authority on the project last week, but the dozen or so other property owners and the renters have not been contacted, said Brian Farrier, the EPA remedial project manager for the site. ...
