KDHE Seeks Input On Contamination At Boeing FacilityKDHE will host a public meeting and hearing to discuss the proposed remedy at the City of Wichita Environmental Health auditorium on July 11 at 6:30 p.m. KAKELand (KAKE TV News, Wichita, KS) July 2, 2012Kansas Health officials are asking for input on the agency's plan to address groundwater and soil contamination at the Boeing Wichita Site. An environmental audit found the contamination at the facility, located at 3801 S. Oliver, in 1986. Volatile organic compounds, primarily tetrachloroethene and trichloroethene and their breakdown products were identified near a degreaser sump on the property and in the groundwater to the south-southwest of the site. Subsequent investigations conducted at the site determined that both soil and groundwater were contaminated with TCE and PCE, their breakdown products and chromium. ...
