Wake Forest man says he witnessed chemical dumping By Charlotte Huffman NBC YV-17 News (NC) September 18, 2012The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources is investigating three potential parties that may be responsible for the leak of a carcinogenic chemical in Wake Forest well water. DENR says it is looking at Circuit Board Assemblers, C-Tron and the current property owner as the possible source of trichloroethylene, also called TCE, in Wake Forest well water. In 2000, Flextronics acquired Circuit Board Assemblers. The Environmental Protection Agency says tests on 97 water wells in Wake Forest showed that 21 wells had signs of TCE. Of those 21 wells, 12 were above safety standard, and those homeowners were provided with bottled water. ...
